With the 14th Feb is just around the corner, and I always ask myself ‘Does anyone actually like Valentine's Day?’. The day of ‘love’ we celebrate each year has been on the calendar since the year 496 but what does it really mean now in a modern romantic context???
Whether you're married to "The One" or find yourself as single as can be, Valentine's Day couples set high, impossible-to-achieve expectations, while single people are forced to celebrate something called "Singles Awareness Day.”
I kinda like Valentines Day….I think regardless of where it came from, it’s a chance to take stock and appreciate everyone in your life you love regardless if it is a romantic or platonic relationship. It’s also cool I think to hold on to some ancient traditions, and of course it also means it’s just another excuse to shop or get some more presents!!!
