Lessons learnt from the recent NYFW 2020 were that designers are shying away from trend-based movements and steering away from flash in the pan styles, instead the focus is moving to designing pieces that are wardrobe sustainable. Is this an environmental statement we are finally seeing across all major fashion labels? Or is this more a longer-form of trend cycle? I personally hope it’s the former, as it is high time to be curbing fashion waste on all levels of the industry be it fashion houses or consumers.
