KEY TRENDS OF 2025
Posted on
I know most fashion press has been telling us that we will see less and less ‘Trend’ based fashion in a bid to help with seasonal fashion waste that plague’s the fashion industry BUT…. 2025 has seen two very clear trends emerge to dominate street style.
The first to talk about is MOTO BOHO. Blending the ethereal and feminine lure of soft, voluminous pieces with edgier details in leathers, studs and heavy silhouettes, moto boho should be too contradictory to work—in theory.
We’re seeing lace maxi dresses paired with biker boots and leather jackets in surplus, not only working in a beautifully contrasted harmony but looking effortlessly cool, too. This is one trend that has me written all over it :)
The other which is gaining traction is the Y2Chaotic trend, which celebs like Timothee Chalamet and the original tiktokker Addison Rae and of course Charlie XCX are credited in making this way of styling your wardrobe so accessible. To describe this trend just think Y2K fashion styled in a chaotic manner. Think a midriff-baring ribbed tank top paired with camouflage cargo pants, and a Fendi baguette bag nonchalantly slung over the shoulder; frayed denim shorts belted by a chunky round buckle, paired with strappy kitten heels and a Von Dutch trucker hat; a pink velour tracksuit with a Gothic font spelling NASTY in rhinestones across the rear, topped off with a pair of Matrix-style sunglasses. I saw 1000s of millennials at the Laneway Festival in Brisvegas interpreting this trend & wearing it with pride :)
What might sound like fashion relics from a bygone era have been worn all over social media in recent years by many of the biggest models of the moment—and it’s a style revival that doesn’t seem to be disappearing any time soon. I think I still have a few pieces in my wardrobe from the early 2000s I might have to drag out again!
If you’re looking for some pieces to get you set to wear these trends strutting the pavement in your town, look no further than aceyacey.com.au. We have 1000s of preloved pieces that fit the brief, and you will never have to mine another thrift store again.
