Whilst flicking through the pages of one of my fav mags this week RUSSH, I took the time to read the Editors letter to see what the headspace & inspiration was for this edition. It was a really interesting read all about being an artist, being a creative form, consumption in this ever-consuming era, and ended with a simple sentence- ‘May we all find the strength to be our own work of art’.
It is a really poignant sentence when navigating through life, and more often than not confidence in yourself and your worth is only found later in life. We’re all born as individual beings with the same kick-ass potential as the next person. Yet for many of us the chaos of life can throw us on all sorts of paths that are sometimes not the exact ‘way’ you thought the path would go!!!
I’ve personally always found comfort in fashion to express who I am, and I’ve been that way for as long as I can remember. It’s a constant in all of our lives, and if we choose to embrace how we would like to be perceived on first sight, fashion is a great starting point to building your image. Look at it like self-discovery through trial and error! I promise it’s a heap of fun trying different styles, and you may suddenly have the ‘light bulb ‘moment of ‘THIS IS ME’!!
