I have to start off todays thoughts congratulating that irreverent and ever so endearing trio boygenius on their 3 Grammy wins on Monday Sydney time. I’m downright OBSESSED with their masterpiece record, simply titlled ‘The Record’. Their music brings me so much joy, and Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus really deserve the ‘Supergroup’ title that they have been donned. GO GIRLS & PLEASE PLEASE come and tour Oz soon. (I know I am gushing…).
Before I get to what’s new this week at aceyacey.com.au (and there is a lot), I have to tell you how good last weekend was. If you remember I went down to Melbourne to the premiere if the musical ‘Groundhog Day’ at the Princess Theatre and it was fantastic!! An amazing cast & an amazing musical score by our very own Tim Minchin. You really must see it if you get a chance.
Then onto Laneway 2024! What a wild time was had with the fam & friends. Highlights were a very cool artist from the UK named RAYE. If you haven’t checked her music out yet its a must. Another fun band was Paris Texas from the USA, and amazing Aussie singer songwriter Angie McMahon was fantastic. I even stayed up til after midnight!!! I’ve put in a couple of sneaky pics from the weekend so you can see the fun with my fam:)
