Over the past couple of weeks I’ve read many odes to cities and people, reminiscing times of the not too distant past, BC (Before Covid!) as I like to call it. Globally people have shared lamentations of loss of everyday life that would mostly go unnoticed previously and that now are so valuable. New Yorkers are discovering new meaning to Billy Joel’s ‘New York State Of Mind’ lyrics, Londoners can finally get out to smell the roses, and in Sydney we can feel the shackles of the disease slowly but cautiously lifting.
Tomorrow in Sydney we are starting to relax a little & are getting a few of life’s little pleasures back like sitting in a cafe for a coffee with a friend, or maybe getting to a wine bar for a weekend beverage, but the first thing I’m going to do is sit in the sun in the middle of a park (with a hat on of course!!).
I know we’ve many a mile to walk yet for a normal right of passage through the world to materialise, but having the right new wardrobe additions is going to make that taste of freedom all the sweeter!!!
