LABELS TO LOVE
Posted on
Seeya June, next stop JULY!! I hope everyone has been coping with either the arctic or heatwave conditions we’ve been experiencing around the global this season!
Being the fashion industry nerd that I am, last week I was having a read of one of my fav fashion news sites Business Of Fashion and read an interesting article about the future of labelling our clothes. According to BoF there’s a massive push for changes that would allow brands to swap out physical tags for labels pointing to the information digitally. The idea, though unusual, could garner more support as brands increasingly embrace digital IDs for their garments.
Personally, I don’t know where I stand on this. I understand that this might save a few cents for the manufacturer, and that sometimes those info tags can be in an area on the garment that can be unsightly, or has been stitched in a visible fashion which you wish it wasn’t…but I do sometimes go back and refer to the care tag, and I’m not convinced I would be organised enough to keep the code somewhere that I could access in the future. What do you think?? Are you starting to see this already. I certainly think any move that’s makes the material or the origin of garments more opaque might be problematic as we all do need to know and understand where things are sourced and who is making them. Something to keep an eye on for sure.
This week at aceyacey.com.au we’ve added some amazing designer labels for you! All perfect preloved designer and vintage fashion at prices you will love. Keep scrolling for this week’s snippet.
