On my recent travels to France, Mon Dieu! I was in awe of the street style showing out every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner on every footpath across the city.
Not only the ever so stylish French, who are known for being tres chic, but also tourists from all over the globe. Everyone obviously gave themselves the same brief for their long-awaited travels or day to day freedoms- be styled! Each and every person had their own individual ‘look’, and it was such a treat to walk the streets and appreciate not only everything Paris has to offer, but also everyone’s fashion choices.
Arguably, no two industries are better matched than fashion and travel. Both evoke images of freedom and fantasy, discovery and adventure, creativity, romance, and escape. And no two industries could have found more welcoming audiences after the years of lockdown & continuing disruption.
So important is travel to the fashion industry that there's a season devoted to it. Each year, between presentations of the fall-winter and spring-summer fashion collections, a category dubbed "resort," "cruise," or "holiday" arrives, referring to clothing from bikinis to ski jackets. It enables consumers to purchase clothes for climates different from their own.
