I’m sure I don’t have to remind you that Easter is coming!!!
In exactly 2 weeks you’ll be free as a bunny, or a bilby which we here in Australia like to think of representing Easter! We will all hopefully have 4 days of fun & frivolity stuffing ourselves with chocolate treats & spending time with loved ones. These days all the big supermarkets start putting out their Easter stock on Boxing Day (eye roll) but I’m a purist & I’ve made sure that our households been Easter treat-anything free until the time is officially here! Easter for the entire family this year is a trip to Bluesfest in beautiful Byron Bay. I’m surmising that the kids will get into the music even though they keep questioning which of their fav hip hop acts will be there for them to see….
Any music festival always is something of a transformative experience. Be it discovering new music, making new friends & absorbing the atmosphere. I find festivals inspiring & a great way to discover something new! I also just LOVE the people watching. Fashion in Byron is never minimalist or bland with this tiny towns harmonious meld of hippies, hipsters, cashed up ex-city folk & the truly way out folk. This always means the fashion on the field is eye catching from any viewpoint!
What am I going to wear I hear you ask?? Well as you can imagine I have plenty of options for all-weather scenarios waiting to be packed in my suitcase. After both attending and working at festivals for longer than I can remember I’ve become quite a pro (usually) on my go-to festival attire!! A raincoat & gumboots are the no brainer necessity for Byron Shire festivals & these always go into my cargo first. Of course the wide brim hat, beanie, cool comfy boots &/ or sneakers that can get trashed in the dust are next. Then I add my festival sparkle to the mix and Ta Da I’m done!! (in real time this could have taken 3 days to get right lol :))
