ACEYACEY.COM.AU- THE ‘NON-ISSUE’ ISSUE!!!!

We’re back!!
After a great holiday in Byron Bay with the family, we’re back on deck, recharged & the creative juices are already flowing!! It’s funny how just a few days somewhere fantastically different can energise the soul and give you a fresh outlook on the world. There’s no such thing as too much ‘self inspiration’ I say!!
Not only did I get to see some amazing live music at Bluesfest from the likes of Kurt Vile, Kasey Chambers, Ben Harper to name a few, my husband & I got to share the whole experience with our two boys who had an ace time! They do love their ‘Hip Hop’  and were unsure at times of the lineup , luckily local indigenous artist Baker Boy saved the day for them musically!!
As normal the people watching at Bluesfest was a big highlight, with much of the fashion stuck in my head I began contemplating just how I can take that Byron sense and sensibility home with me to Sydney until my next trip in a few moths :)
The added bonus of a music festival in a beach town is that there is always time to lie around soaking in the sun and sand with some holiday reading. I’ve started a cool book recommended by Reece Witherspoon set in the world of 70s rock & excess, ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’. I think she’s about to make a series based on it as her follow up to ‘Sweet Little Lies'!! I also came across an article from an ad agency talking about British Vogue releasing an anti-age discrimination edition called the ‘The Non Issue Issue’!. It’s aimed at increasing the visibility of women over 50 by smashing preconceptions about ageing. What a great brainwave!!
The mag will feature Jane Fonda on the cover, and gets its title from the idea that age should no longer be a hurdle in media and entertainment, a phenomena that particularly affects women. The editorial includes fashion & beauty content centred on the lives and perspectives of inspirational women, all of whom are over 50. Along with Fonda, women involved include actresses Dame Helen Mirren & Isabelle Adjani.
In a fun way this outlook can also apply to fashion, and Vogue turned my thoughts to my store aceyacey.com.au, and how the ‘age’ of your clothes when shopping with us is irrelevant. Its all about the quality, style and longevity of the item, as apposed to a fast fix high-street injection without any depth of wear!! To that end I really encourage you to TELL YOUR FRIENDS about the love of shopping preloved designer & vintage fashion. They’ll be wondering why the damn hell they haven’t been shopping this way all along. Not only will your wardrobe benefit massively from shopping recycled, but you’re doing your bit to help lesson fashion landfill, and create a society that will be truly ageless in all aspects of fashion in the media!!
AGELESS IS TRENDING!!
